Mehndi Class

Students Practising Menhdi DesignsMehndi classes were desired by the students as they have lots of requests for designer mehndi classes to be conducted for them

Special sessions where in the trainees were asked to draw designs a, use their creativity and convert the drawings into clear designs on hand and leg was also conducted

Totally 70 women participated in the Mehndi classes which and they were trained for special occasions

Referrals were given and the women were also advised to announce their talents in the area.

Leaflets were distributed to the dwellers that special training was given to the trainee’s in the area on Mehndi.

Regular business for about 30 women has been forth coming and they charge Rs. 500 per client for Mehndi applying

Total women who attended the classes was 70 and 30 of them who are more talented have been able to surrect themselves adequately.

Beauty Parlour Classes

Beauty parlour classes for the trainees living in the area have been given and requests for further classes have been made. The classes have been a joint sessions with SNDT university where the trainees undergo certification by the university upon successfully completing the course.

Each student had to complete all basics and will be eligible for an advanced course in hair cutting.

Pot Painting

women making pots which are sold during dasseraPot making and pot painting classes for the women in the area with a clear objective to make the same available during the Puja season of Dussera and Diwali. The students were taught how to make the pots and the same were sold in nearby shops in the area

  1. Each small pot was sold for Rs 10
  2. The large ones were for Rs 80
  3. The very large decorated &painted ones were sold for Rs 110

A total of Rs 3500 was earned during the period of Dussera and Diwali by each trainee whose pots were sold as special shops in stalls near the railway station

Totally a group of 33 women participated in pot painting classes and all were converted into earnings
