The area houses around 6000 families in extremely low income group devoid of sanitation, ventilation, poor educational background, congested dwelling and extremely disease prone.
The area has a mixed population with conservative Muslim and Hindu Communities.
The women living in this area comprise of those who have been married off at an early age and who seek to improve their financial status. They include families whose husbands are wayward in life due drinking, chain smoking and not having a living to support their families at all. The women have to earn mandatorily to take care of House hold expenses.
